Why I'm supporting the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation Cardiac Challenge

In 2019, I was a cardiac patient myself. While waiting at the hospital for my stent procedure, I saw the Far North Hospital Foundation mural on the wall. I remember promising myself that one day, when I got better, I would join this ride and help spread the word about the incredible work they do. The very next year, I did exactly that.

Now, I’m once again taking on the challenge of riding to Cooktown — not just for myself, but to help make a real difference in the lives of people in our community.

Heart disease touches so many of us — whether it’s a family member, a friend, or ourselves. By supporting this ride, we’re helping fund vital cardiac services that save lives right here in Far North Queensland.

Every kilometre I pedal is a step closer to better care, more advanced equipment, and improved outcomes for those who need it most. This is more than just a bike ride for me. It’s a way of giving back, inspiring others, and showing that together, we can achieve something truly meaningful.
