DAY 1 (SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19)

expand_more expand_less

If you're dropping off your rider at Skyrail or Kuranda, please drop off your rider and continue driving to keep traffic flowing smoothly.

If your rider is starting from Mareeba, you're welcome to stay and see them off from Mareeba Rotary Park. However, we encourage you to leave when the packs are having their briefing and go straight to the lunch stop at the Mount Molloy CWA Hall. This will help avoid passing the packs on the way, which could lead to a build-up of traffic in a very busy section.

After lunch, continue on to Mount Carbine, where you’ll reunite with your rider at the campground.

Dinner will be 6pm - 7.30pm. Dinner is provided by the Mt Carbine Horse Sports Association.

⚠️ For safety reasons, we ask that supporters do not follow riders along the route. Instead, please drive directly to the designated stops.

DAY 2 (SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20)

expand_more expand_less

Supporters are asked to hit the road early and travel ahead of the riders to help keep the road train as small as possible. Riders may be delayed, as our permits require riding packs to move off the road when too many vehicles build up behind them.

Meet your rider(s) at the lunch stop, Palmer River Roadhouse. Here, you have the opportunity to enjoy a free lunch (selection of sandwiches) or support the Palmer River Roadhouse by purchasing something from their menu. Please try to leave the lunch stop before too many packs arrive.

Continue on to Lakeland after lunch, where you can set up camp at the Lakeland State School while you wait for riders to arrive.

We'll gather at the Lakeland Hotel in the afternoon, a great chance to relax and celebrate the journey so far. Cheer on the riders as the Highest Fundraiser and King and Queen of the Mountain Jerseys are awarded in recognition of outstanding efforts on and off the bike.

Dinner will be held at the Lakeland Hotel and catered by the Lakeland P&C, supporting Lakeland School. Pub meals will still be available for the general public. Dinner will be served from 6pm - 7.30pm, and the bar will close at 10pm.

⚠️ For safety reasons, we ask that supporters do not follow riders along the route. Instead, please drive directly to the designated stops.

DAY 3 (MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21)

expand_more expand_less

This morning, we need you to leave the camp before the riders and head straight into Cooktown. This is a very busy stretch of the road, and the safety of our riders is paramount. We know it is an early start, but we do know that you want everyone to arrive safely in Cooktown.

On arrival in Cooktown, take some time to look around or find your accommodation or set up your camp. It is a very historical town with a lot to offer.

At 12.30pm, be ready to cheer on the riders as they make their way into town. Gather as a crowd along Charlotte Street, in front of the RSL and Endevour Park, to give them a warm and energetic welcome.

Then join us in celebrating with them at the RSL for lunch, where you will have the option to enjoy a free lunch (selection of sandwiches) or purchase something from the RSL. During lunch, pack leaders will announce their ‘Pack Hero’ riders, recognising those who have shown exceptional spirit and determination throughout the challenge.

The afternoon is free time to relax and explore Cooktown before the final event of the challenge - dinner at the Cooktown PCYC, catered by Cairns Spit Roast. All registered riders, supporters and volunteers are welcome to attend, but additional guests must purchase a ticket to join the celebratory dinner.

⚠️ For safety reasons, we ask that supporters do not follow riders along the route. Instead, please drive directly to the designated stops.
