Supporters - Day 1

Saturday, September 19, 2026

The ride begins! Supporters should make their way to either the Mount Molloy CWA Hall for the lunch stop or to the Mount Carbine Horse Sports Grounds. Once there, set up camp for your rider(s), then head to the Mount Carbine Hotel to cheer the riders as they arrive.

Dinner will be 6pm - 7.30pm. Dinner is provided by the Mt Carbine Horse Sports Association.

Supporters- Day 2

Sunday, September 20, 2026

Supporters are asked to hit the road early and travel ahead of the riders to help keep the road train as small as possible. Riders may be delayed, as our permits require riding packs to move off the road when too many vehicles build up behind them.

Supporters may meet their rider(s) at the Palmer River lunch stop before continuing on to the Lakeland Hotel or Lakeland School Grounds.  Please try to leave the lunch stop before too many packs arrive.

Camping will be at the Lakeland School grounds, located in the centre of town.

Dinner will be held at the pub and catered by the Lakeland P&C, supporting Lakeland School. Pub meals will still be available for the general public. Dinner will be served from 6pm - 7.30pm, and the bar will close at 10pm.

Supporters- Day 3

Monday, September 21, 2026

The final day of the challenge begins with riders departing Lakeland and riding 79km to the finish line in Cooktown. Supporters are once again asked to hit the road early to help minimise the size of the road train.

As riders approach Cooktown, all packs will regroup at the Muster Point to ride the final section together. Please do not stop at the Muster Point. Instead, head straight to the Cooktown RSL and be ready to cheer on the riders as they make their way into town. If possible, gather as a crowd along the street to give them a warm and energetic welcome.

Following the ride, everyone will head to the Cooktown RSL for a well-earned lunch. During lunch, pack leaders will announce their ‘Pack Hero’ riders, recognising those who have shown exceptional spirit and determination throughout the challenge.

The afternoon is free time to relax and explore Cooktown before the final event of the challenge - dinner at the Cooktown Event Centre, catered by Cairns Spit Roast.
