Cairns to Cooktown bring it on!!
Hi Guys
I’m excited to be involved in this year's Cairns Hospital Foundation’s Cardiac Challenge, riding to Cooktown.
It’s my first time doing a fundraiser like this, and it’s going to be a different experience getting off my mountain bike and joining my new people, Lycra-loving middle-aged men and women. I’m assuming they still enjoy a beer and a few laughs on these rides, and I’m sure I’ll make some new friends along the way. I know that I’ll be looking for a cold beer at the end of each day!!
The work the hospital foundation does makes a real difference in the lives of people in our community. Heart disease touches so many of us—whether it’s a family member, a friend, or even ourselves. By supporting this ride, we’re helping fund vital cardiac services that save lives right here in Far North Queensland. We never know when we may need these services (hopefully not me on this trip, haha)
Every kilometre I pedal is a step closer to better care, more advanced equipment, and improved outcomes for those who need it most. It’s not just a bike ride; it’s a way to give back to the community, inspire others, and show that together, we can achieve something incredible.
