Raising funds for Parkinsons
At 83, Brian White isn't just living with Parkinson's Disease – he's challenging it head-on with an extraordinary goal that needs your support.
In 2009, a devastating cycling accident left Brian with 17 fractures and a rare skull-base injury that completely separated his midface from his skull. But this wasn't the end of his story – it was just the beginning of an incredible journey of resilience and purpose.
Despite multiple surgeries and a later Parkinson's diagnosis in 2015, Brian refused to let his conditions define him. Now, he's taking on an amazing challenge: leading the 'Downunder Movers and Shakers' team in the iconic Great Wheelbarrow Race this May.
"The Hospital Foundation is giving me a purpose," Brian shares. "I'm thrilled to be able to make a difference and help others."
This isn't just about completing a race. It's about:
- Raising vital awareness for Parkinson's Disease
- Supporting the Neurology Department at Cairns Hospital
- Showing that age and health challenges don't limit your ability to make a difference
Your support makes a difference
Join Brian's initiative by:
- Supporting his team's fundraising efforts
- Becoming part of the 'Downunder Movers and Shakers' team
- Helping improve neurological care in Far North Queensland
