At 85, Brian White isn't just living with Parkinson's Disease – he's challenging it head-on with an extraordinary goal that needs your support.

In 2009, a devastating cycling accident left Brian with 17 fractures and a rare skull-base injury that completely separated his midface from his skull. But this wasn't the end of his story – it was just the beginning of an incredible journey of resilience and purpose.

Despite multiple surgeries and a later Parkinson's diagnosis in 2015, Brian refused to let his condition define him. Now, he's taking on an amazing challenge: leading the 'Downunder Movers and Shakers' team for a second time in the iconic Great Wheelbarrow Race this May.

"The Hospital Foundation is giving me a purpose," Brian shares. "I'm thrilled to be able to make a difference and help others."

This isn't just about completing a race. It's about:

  • Raising vital awareness of Parkinson's Disease fighting this rapidly spreading disease which is now the fastest growing neurological disorder in the world.
  • Supporting the Neurology Department at Cairns Hospital
  • Showing that age and health challenges don't limit your ability to make a difference
