FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Are there seats along the way?
Yes, there is SOME seating along the way, but it is limited.
How long will it take?
This really depends on your fitness level. For the long course, allow a minimum of three to four hours going at a steady pace with a couple of drink and food stops. The short course takes about one to 1.5 hours.
Do I really have to fundraise $100?
Yes. The whole point of the Foundation's events is to raise money. When you pay a registration fee that helps us cover the costs associated with hosting the event. Each participant is required to fundraise at least $100 but once you get started, you will find it easier than you think, if you've never done a fundraising event before. Remember, we're here to help so if you have any questions, just reach out. Each participant who raises at least $100 will receive a small gift at the end of the walk.
How do I collect donations?
After registering you will instantly receive your own fundraising page which you can personalise with your own picture and story.
Sharing the link to this page via social media, emails and in person will take donors straight to your own fundraising page.
Can I raise funds offline?
Yes. All funds collected offline (cash donations only) can be processed by dropping into our office and we can upload the funds to your fundraising page. Remember if you have donors that require receipts for their cash donation you will need to capture their personal details.
What percentage of the donation goes to the cause?
100% of donations from the BDO Arrow Experience will go directly to the Donate for DaNi campaign. This is made possible by our social enterprises, which generate profits that cover our operating costs, ensuring charitable donations have the greatest impact.
What is our connection to the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games?
The BDO Arrow Experience has partnered with the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games (GBRMG) 2025 to create a combined event, blending our fundraising walk with a competitive trail run. The event is organised by the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, with promotional support from Cairns Regional Council.
Under the GBRMG banner, the BDO Arrow Experience is classified as a trail run/walk. Participants in the competitive trail run must register through GBRMG, which includes the Games registration fee. This grants access to the full GBRMG experience, including accreditation, a Games bag, towel, hat, and entry into social events.
For those joining the non-competitive trail walk or participants under 18, registration is managed separately through the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation.
How do I register for the event?
You can register for the event by clicking the register button on the top of the page.
However if you wish to compete in the trail run, you will need to register via the Great Barrier Reef Master Games website here: https://www.gbrmg.com.au/sports/trail-running
