Tuesday 27th JanLater this year, I’ll be taking on my biggest cycling challenge yet — riding from Cairns to Cooktown in the 2026 Cardiac Challenge.
I’m 42 and have completed a couple of big rides over the past few years, but this one is on a whole different level. It’s going to be tough — physically and mentally — and that’s exactly why I’ve committed to it.
This ride is about more than just the kilometres. The Cardiac Challenge raises vital funds for cardiac wards and life-saving heart care. Almost everyone knows someone who has needed cardiac treatment, which makes this cause incredibly important.
This year is about getting fitter, healthier, and pushing myself toward a major goal. I’ve got a long way to go, but every training ride brings me closer.
