Volunteer Roles
The Alive Pharmacy Warehouse Ride for Isabel would not be possible without the generous support of our volunteers.
With a range of volunteer roles available, we have something to suit everyone. Take a look at our volunteer roles below to find how you can support us in raising funds for the Special Care Nursery.
Escort Vehicle Drivers
This is a very important role and the time will go very quickly as you will be busy “protecting your brood”. It is also very gratifying through interaction with the riders and drink stop crew on the road.
The event travels on public roads so obeying the road rules and safety are paramount during the ride.
Each Pack is led and followed by vehicles that need to be able to get off the road at Drink Stops and they will need the capacity to pick up cyclists and bikes in case of mechanical breakdown or rider injury.
Additional information will be provided closer to the event commencement.
Registration Assistants
Two volunteers to assist with Registration. All Ride for Isabel participants need to sign in prior to departure and again at the completion of the event.
Drink Stop Assistants
Drink Stops are located at Giangurra Esplanade Park, Barbaagallo Road and Norman Park for a short rest, to rehydrate, re-fuel and perhaps take a quick toilet stop.
An essential part of the role is to make it a ‘fun’ atmosphere to noise and frivolity, water sprays, etc are all encouraged.
Medics
Must have basic medical first aid certificate and offer first aid assistance where required. Must have a mobile phone to be used In the event of an emergency to telephone 000.
