Why I’m Taking on the Great Wheelbarrow Race

For years, I’ve been the one behind the camera – sharing stories, capturing moments, and shining a light on the incredible people who take on fundraising challenges for the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation.

But this time, I’m stepping out from behind the scenes and strapping on my sneakers to join the Downunder Movers and Shakers in the Great Wheelbarrow Race.

We're running to raise funds for the Neurology Department at Cairns Hospital, a cause that hits close to home. Like many people, I’ve seen the impact of neurological conditions on people I care about – both family members and the families of close friends – and I’m proud to help champion the cause.

This May, our team is taking on 140km from Mareeba to Chillagoe to help improve neurological care right here in Far North Queensland. The funds we raise will go directly towards equipment that will help diagnose neurological conditions, making earlier and more accurate care possible for local patients.
