Max Bryant

Down Under Movers and Shakers

Why Max is Taking on the Great Wheelbarrow Race

Born and bred in Cairns, Max has always been a dedicated supporter of Far North Queensland. From being one of the first ‘door knock appeal’ collectors for the Salvation Army, to regularly donating and sponsoring organisations like the FNQ Youth Assistance, Fund, the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, Rotary and Touch Football, Max has always been there to help.

In recent years, Max’s philanthropic approach to life has been spurred on by more than just an admirable dedication to his community; it comes from the very personal lived experience of supporting his much-loved wife, Wendy, through her diagnosis and fight against Parkinsons Disease.

“If Brian White can get out there and push a wheelbarrow from Mareeba to Chillagoe at the age of 83, I have no excuse not to do my bit,” laughs Max.

Max is joined on the Movers and Shakers team by friends and associates, Patricia Rossi and Brian Keller; his son, Chris Bryant; and other colleagues from Bryant Building Contractors, Dan Fragg and Chris Kelly.

“We’re doing this for Wendy and Brian, but we’re also doing it to make people more aware of Parkinson’s and raise the much-needed funds to help improve treatments and care in Far North Queensland in the future.”

“Every contribution will make a difference.”

Go Max. Will book a Physio appointment for day after. Maybe let the young ones do the bulk of the pushing, you don't have to prove anything we think you are amazing already.
