The relay heats kick off at 12pm, paving the way for the five fastest teams to advance to the final showdown. Trophies await the teams that secure first, second, or third positions in the final.
About the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation
The Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is a local charity dedicated to improving health care across the region, with every dollar raised going directly toward enhancing services and facilities for 66 public hospitals and health centres in Far North Queensland.
Since 1997, the Foundation has worked alongside health providers, volunteers, and the community to fund vital equipment, training, research, and facility upgrades. Thanks to its unique social enterprise model, all administrative costs are fully covered, ensuring 100% of donations support better health outcomes.
What are we fundraising for?
We are raising funds to purchase new bedside ultrasound equipment for the Sub‑Acute Care Unit on Oregon Street.This unit operates as an external ward of Cairns Hospital, providing essential care for older people and patients undergoing rehabilitation.
This upgraded technology will enable clinicians to perform quick, comfortable, and accurate assessments right at the bedside—reducing delays, improving patient comfort, and supporting faster, better‑informed clinical decisions.

About Cairns Legends and Masters Swimming (CLAMS)
Tobruk Memorial Pool management support the club in all the swimming events that they undertake including hosting the 2022 MSQ State Swimming championships, hosting the swimming for the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games (GBRMG) biannually. CLAMS training sessions are held at the Tobruk Memorial Pool Cairns on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
About Tobruk Memorial Pool
Tobruk Memorial Pool offers a FINA-approved 50m Olympic swimming pool, 25m lap pool, warm water therapy pool, toddler splash area, Flow Rider, a cafe, two function rooms, and a retail shop. The facility is the place where tourists and locals head to socialise, train and enjoy state-of-the-art facilities.
