Mareeba Friends of the Foundation
The Mareeba Friends of the Foundation is dedicated to improving patient care by funding vital, state-of-the-art equipment for Mareeba Hospital and surrounding health care centres. Every donation helps make a difference in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.
This year, the Mareeba Friends of the Foundation have been nominated by four teams participating in the Great Wheelbarrow Race, each aiming to support health care services in Mareeba.

Friday 9th May 2025 – Mareeba to Dimbulah, with an overnight stay and celebrations in Dimbulah
Saturday 10th May 2025 – Dimbulah to Almaden with a lunch stop in Petford and overnight stay and celebrations in Almaden
Sunday 11th May 2025– Almaden to Chillagoe with race presentations once the final competitor crosses the finish line.
