Why comfort care packs matter

The Cancer Care Ward at Cairns Hospital cares for many palliative patients and their families, who often spend significant time in the hospital. During these times, patients become like family to the staff and volunteers who support them. Created from the insights and wishes of our dedicated health care team, these Comfort Care Packs are thoughtfully curated to offer small but meaningful comforts to patients nearing the end of life. While palliative care involves so much more, we believe each pack provides an extra layer of care, adding a touch of comfort during a difficult journey.
